Relaxed Brunch Entertaining with Miss Polly’s Kitchen

 

Miss Polly’s Kitchen is an Instagram favourite for inspiring home-cooked recipes. Polly has proudly launched her second cookbook, Seriously Delicious, with 70 new recipes available now at your nearest bookstore.

After spending countless moments in the kitchen crafting culinary dishes for loved ones, Polly enjoys nothing more than sharing beautiful food with her favourite people.

My top tip for hosting is to be as organised as possible so that everything is a breeze on the day. Try to not get too caught up over timing of the food and just enjoy being present with your friends.

Brunch parties are super fun. They don’t require too much work on the day, and lots can be prepped in advance. It makes for a more effortless way of hosting.

 

Ricotta Toast with Poached Fruit


I would say for brunch entertaining, this simple ricotta toast with a selection of fruit is my go-to crowd-pleasing dish. I find these dishes effortless, but undeniably tasty.

 

Ricotta spread
- 500g ricotta
- 250g mascarpone
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- Zest of 1 lemon

Loaf of sourdough - sliced & toasted

 

Toppings
- 3 pears, poached & sliced
- 1 can of apricot halves in juice
- 2 cups pitted cherries in light syrup
- Orange zest
- Mint leaves
- Fresh thyme leaves
- Runny honey
- Toasted pistachios, crushed
- Toasted hazelnuts, crushed
- Toasted almonds, flaked


Method

1.     Mix the ricotta spread ingredients together in a bowl. Set aside.
2.     Place all the topping ingredients into serving ramekins or lay them onto various sized plates.
3.     Let everyone help themselves and enjoy.

Serves 6-8

Granola
Sliced fresh fruit
Yoghurt
Blueberry jam
Swiss cheese, sliced
Prosciutto
